Hello!

It has been a very insane last few weeks but it'll all be worth it. In light of the upcoming holiday, everyone knows that although Christmas is the time to rejoice in Jesus' birth, that we also get gifts as well.

My youngest sister is going away to college next month (holy crap!) and she sent a list of what her wants/needs are for while she's away. The picture is the last bit of convo we had. Guess who was the smart aleck in this? Lol

Been almost a month since last post.

Tried to make a post last week or so but it didn't work so it was scrapped. Nothing much but work is going on. Got a second job (crazy, right?) and have even less free time. Ah, the joys of being an adult.

Fall nights are the best!

Ask anyone that knows me and they will tell you Fall is my absolute season ever. Christmas is definitely the best time of year, but there is something about fall that's just amazing.

The sunsets are utterly incredible and I am in constant amazement how beautiful nature is.

BirthDAY almost over

Can't believe the day flew by. Then again, I spent 70% in a plane and at least 20% completely forgetting it was my birthday.

All that's wanted right now is some long, overdue and muchly needed sleep.

Had the most amazing time in California. Did so much in such a short time. Really cannot wait to go back.

Whoops!

Just realized I had mentioned about posting another blog yesterday (on Wednesday) and happened to forget about it. OOPS!

Life has been a constant flow of work and sleep....and that's about it. I love my job - I really do - but lately all I want to do is sleep. Guess I'm not as early a bird as I once thought I was. haha


Anyway! So onto what the post was supposed to be about. My adorable, darling, light-of-my-life niece. She just turned four on Thursday and I honestly can't believe where the time has gone. It seems like just yesterday I get woken up by my Mom saying my sister is in labor and we're off to the hospital.

At 2:20 am my life forever changed. She was the most adorable little sumo wrestler I had ever seen. And, boy, did she have LUNGS! And she has a been a diva ever since. (If this is what I feel and I'm just her aunt, I can't imagine how my sister must feel.) Cannot wait to spend time with her this weekend. Even if I sleep longer than I should....;)

Counting my blessings one day at a time. :)

Tomorrow is a special day. Will update after work. 😊

Just a random update

Still alive, but barely. Work had been keeping me really busy and since I get up before 5 am every day....I sort of come home and crash. Days now consist of waking up, going to work, coming home, showering and immediately hitting the bed. WITH an early bedtime to boot. So my days are next to non-existent anymore. It's nice to be working and having income, but I don't have a life otherwise. 

Oh, well! Not complaining. Very grateful to have a job. :)

I was lucky enough to have off this weekend (3 day weekend, in fact😊) and am spending 90% of it with my niece whom I haven't seen in three weeks. 

Am completely beat but it's so worth it. ❤️

Watched America's Got Talent earlier and saw these absolutely AMAZINNNNGGGGGG illusionists (simply titled "The Illusionists") and posted my huge love and admiration for them on Twitter and not only got a favorite and retweet by The Illusionsts Twitter itself, but a favorite from one of The Illusionists himself! TOTALLY freaked out with excitement!

And now Tyler Hilton (in glasses!!!) is on the TV. Happiest happy girl right now. 

It really is the little things. :)

There is a movie on Showcase called "Chuck and Buck" and I'm not entirely sure what it's supposed to be about. It probably didn't help turning the movie on in the middle of it.

Tsum Tsum

Has anyone ever played the Disney game Tsum Tsum? It's horribly addicting and irresistibly adorable. 

I'm sort of crazed when it comes to it. My goal? Get a Stitch and a Minnie. That's all I want. A Stitch and a Minnie.

Accidentally did that yesterday and now the headache won't go away. Guess that's a reminder to not be dingy, huh?

Just because I can always use this reminder myself. 

They say it gets easier in time

Sometimes that is true. 

It was 13 years ago that we lost our father and some days are better than others. 

That is definitely one of the main reasons for being so...down, quiet, not the usual self lately. July is a hard month in general but it seems to get easier yet harder as the years pass. I miss my father like crazy and it kills me that my niece and future children will never get to know their grandfather. I think about him all the time, and those are the times where I find myself lying in a ball in bed crying my eyes out. My father and I were not very close growing up and there was a lot of mixed emotions (and there still is) but he was my father and I can't help but wonder if he were still alive how different things would be right now. 

But, it happened and yes, some days are a lot better than others. I try my best to keep his memory alive and try to make him proud, no matter what. (Plus, the older I get the more I start acting like him. That's both scary and hilarious at the same time. My humor was his humor and THAT is scary. Lol) 

So, here is to you, Dad. We love you and miss you terribly but I am so grateful to have you as a guardian angel. 

(I made it through without crying! Well...the blog anyway.) 

But as my amazing cousin said to me earlier, "It's okay to cry."

Been feeling a bit down lately, but here are some pics that are an instant cheer up. Here is my 4th of July weekend summed up in pictures. 

This was the sky on July 4th. I think it looks patriotic, but maybe it's just me. 

Saw this cute little guy or gal on a walk yesterday. It posed long enough to take a picture and then ran off. Lol

Our town is quite small, so getting to see the fireworks in town is something special to do. Plus, it only happens every four years, so it's exciting and definitely beautiful to see. 

Fireworks always make me smile. Multi-color fireworks, even better!

And to top off the weekend, girlie girl and I spent our Sunday afternoon coloring with chalk outside. 

I am quite proud of this. It actually looks like an apple. Lol (I'm not an overly good drawer so when something is drawn and it comes out looking like what it's supposed to look like, it's a pretty big deal.) 

It isn't the end of a blog without a little Elsa. You'd swear she was my dog instead of my sister's. Lol Can't help it. She's too cute!

So this is a little late....

But Happy 4th! (It may be two days late, but better late than never, right? Haha) Hope y'all had a great and safe day.

Elsa: Then and Now

As it's been said before my second youngest sister, her husband and their 3 year-old daughter, got a husky whom they named Elsa (Yes, just like from the Disney movie Frozen). Little Elsa has now been with the family for about a month or two and she seems completely different now than when they first got her. 

The day my sister brought her home. She would spent all day in the corner unless she was asleep, eating or using the bathroom. 

("These stupid humans...")

A few days later, Miss Thang was starting to get more comfortable. Not just with my sister's family, but all of us. 

(This was taken at our youngest sister's birthday party at the beginning of June. How adorable is that face?!) 

She was scolding me a couple seconds prior to the picture because I stopped giving her belly rubs. 

Elsa had a leaf in her mouth only seconds before this picture. I SO wish I had gotten the pic I wanted but my lovely iPhone decided it wasn't going to work. Boo! 

Elsa can apparently take selfies? Lol

This was the week after the pics above. She was still warming to us (Okay, she loved me from the get-go, but I love dogs so it was all good. Lol) 

And this picture was taken last night, about two - three weeks from the very last picture posted. You literally could have sworn the dog in this picture was a totally different dog from the one all the way at the top. 

When we walked in the door we were immediately greeted with a wagging tail, loud barks and a over-hyper dog who would not calm down. Again, TOTALLY different from when they first got her. And the stories I hear from my sister are bad ones. Elsa has found her place at home (so comfy enough to eat my niece's toys, chew the furniture, pee and poop on the floor and destroy anything in her sight.) 

I think it's great Elsa is so much happier and safe now that she feels she can run around, but I also know the *joys* of an over-active, hyper puppy (I'll be sure to tell you ALL about Lily's mishaps one day.) can bring. 

At least she's cute....right?
